CCTV INSTALLED IN RAIGUNJ TOWN TO TRACK CRIMES

Webdesk, TNI Raigunj, 25th July, 2015: CCTVs have been installed in Raigunj town with an intention to keep an eye on the activities of miscreants. The CCTV cameras were installed in the important points of the town especially the huge traffic areas. Yesterday the inauguration of the CCTV system was being inaugurated by IG North Bengal Mr. Gyanbant Singh. Apart from Mr. Singh the other dignitaries present were the DIG Malda Range Mr. Satyajit Banerjee, District Police Super-Syed Waqar Raja, Raigunj MLA- Mr. Mohit Sengupta etc. During the last 5 years the crime rate of Raigunj has increased drastically which includes snatching, eve teasing & molestation, murder etc. Most of the crime took place on road and in busy time. Number of complaints about such crimes has also increased. The administration has thus taken this step to track the crimes and the criminals. According to District Police Super Syed Waqar Raja “A total of 13 CCTV cameras has been installed currently and more will be installed later”.
